Why Red Cross training matters
When an emergency starts, every second matters. Red Cross training helps employees, caregivers, teachers, coaches, and community members respond during medical emergencies, injuries, and life-threatening events.
Whether you need CPR, first aid, AED instruction, or workplace safety certification, the course gives you skills you can use to protect other people.

Many employers also require CPR, first aid, or AED certification based on the job and the site.
CPR, first aid, and AED
CPR is used when breathing or the heartbeat has stopped. You learn chest compressions, rescue breaths when the course includes them, and how to handle a cardiac emergency for adults, children, or infants.
First aid covers cuts, burns, sprains, bleeding, allergic reactions, fainting, heat illness, and other urgent problems before EMS arrives.
AED training covers when to use the device, how to follow the prompts, and how it works with CPR. AEDs show up in schools, gyms, offices, churches, and other public buildings. If yours sits in a cabinet nobody has practiced with, that is the gap.
What to expect in class
A typical course mixes instruction, demonstration, hands-on practice, and a skills check. Some classes are fully in person. Some blend online learning with a skills session. Confirm the course type, card length, and format before you book so you get the right option.
